Newest version of my survey
All right, I'll admit I did quite a bit of editing to this. I deleted the old version and revamped it to just use the questions about the stories I already have finished or in-progress.
Carols of Christmas: A Dickensian Tale (The Music)
Just in case you're wondering, here's the list of songs I used as chapter intros:
- "Intro" from the Sleepy Hollow soundtrack by Danny Elfman (though it's not actually stated in the story; I just added this to my Spotify playlist to fill the Chapter 1 space because it's cool and it seems to set the mood for the intro chapter)
- "Epiphany" by Johnny Depp in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street (with a few spoken lines by Jamie Campbell Bower and Helena Bonham Carter early in the song, though not in the section I used)
- "Fidelity" by Regina Spektor
- "Mighty Fine Blues" by Eels (featured in the Holes soundtrack)
- "Laughing With" by Regina Spektor
- "Endless Night" by Jason Raize in Disney's The Lion King on Broadway (with the musical's ensemble later in the song)
- "Beautiful World" by Devo
- "Magic Moments" by Perry Como (featured in the 2005 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy soundtrack)
- "Folding Chair" by Regina Spektor
- "Ruby Tuesday" by The Corrs, featuring Ron Wood
- "Like Whoa" by Aly & AJ (or 78violet)
- "The Call" by Regina Spektor (featured in the 2008 The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian soundtrack)
- "In Dreams" by Edward Ross (featured in "The Breaking of the Fellowship" in Howard Shore's The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring soundtrack)
- "Only Time" by Enya
- "Us" by Regina Spektor (featured in the (500) Days of Summer soundtrack)
- "Into the West" by Annie Lennox (featured in Howard Shore's The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King soundtrack)
- "1,2,3,4" by Plain White T's
- "Silence" by Aly & AJ
- "Edit" by Regina Spektor
- "Go Figure" by Everlife (featured in the Go Figure TV movie soundtrack)
- "Almost Seems (Too Late to Turn)" by Clannad
- "Slow Me Down" by Emmy Rossum
- "When the Stars Go Blue" by The Corrs, featuring Bono (upcoming chapter)
More about Script Frenzy
Basically, it's an annual thing where you try to write an entire 100-page (at least) script in the 30 days of April.
Here's a better explanation:
http://www.scriptfrenzy.org/eng/whatisscriptfrenzy
My screenplay this year is Bloodlust Sacrifice. It's a horror/fantasy/romance/mixed genre movie where vampires and werewolves fight over a mortal every hundred years to sacrifice for their prosperity for the next century. I'm trying to make it as anti-Twilight as possible.
To say that I can't stand Twilight is an understatement. I only read the books to laugh at how... overdramatic they are.

Boredom as story starters update
Some stories I started out of pure boredom, such as:
- "Guilt" (formerly a one-shot that I hoped to continue past the one-shot stage... but I still have some slight plotline issues)
- "After His Last Case" (originally a one-shot I wrote one night when struggling to sleep, but I wanted to see where it went, so I continued it)
- "Shower Intruder" (I was just bored and thought it'd be funny to write, but I'd been considering writing it for a while)
- "Chem Is Try: A Christmas Carol Spoof" (I was bored in my AP US History class the last day before winter vacation my junior year of high school, so I satirized my chemistry teacher)
- "Curtis Watches TV" (again, I wanted to write something funny while just bored)
- "Fool of a Took" (I was bored one night my first year of college while watching TMZ, and they interviewed Billy Boyd that night, so I was inspired to write this story)
- "Hey Norman" (again, I wanted to write something funny while just bored)
- "Mr. B. and the Motel" (I was wasting time before going to a basketball game in college, but I didn't want to do homework)
- "Paint" (I tuned my friends out one day at lunch in high school to write this... I'm such a bad friend)
- "Snow" (I was up late one Saturday night, but I didn't feel like going to sleep or watching SNL)
- "The Janitor's Name" (another one-shot I wrote one night while trying to fall asleep)
- "Tobias" (I was bored one New Year's Eve while waiting for the Time's Square ball drop and related TV shows to come on, so I decided to start this)
- "Two Brothers, Plus One?" (another one-shot that I wanted to continue if I came up with a solid plot... and now has become a multi-chapter story)
- "Ways to Pass the AP US History Exam" (my friends and I were bored one day during one of the review class periods in AP US History, so they started writing this on the chalkboard, and I copied it down because it was so funny)
- "Tamia" (I'm pretty sure I wrote this out of boredom the same evening as "Mr. B. and the Motel." I had just started the first Crank book, and I was inspired by one of my high school buddies)
